The Dreaded Essay

I'll be doing my essay (Task 4: Exploration of 3D Character Animation Performance) on a pretty unusal thing... The Nut from the Ice Age saga. But more specifically, I'll be writing about his personification, camera angles/staging, and everything else that makes the nut - for only a minute - seem alive, and in pain.

I can't post the scene itself on the blog, but its when Scrat saves Scratte from the lava cliff, and they instantly fall in love. Scrat, without taking his eyes off Scratte, kicks the nut to the side. The following scenes are of them falling in love as the nut watches them hopelessly.

Luscious Poly Hair

Lack of updates due to Pitch Week, Disney Pitch, Pitching Tents and Pitch Forks.

I'm starting to feel alittle behind and unmotivated about 3D Molly. Which is a shame, cause I do love her character and started doodling little "adventures" she could go on with her dragon friend.

The issue is technical, but it's Maya being weird and clipping out Poly's and reappearing every now and again. I've managed to finish the hair, but it wouldn't have taken me so long if I had to guess and stuff. However! I really need it to be working to finish my fingers.

Fingers; grrr. Another issue I'm having, must have redone them 10 times and I still can't get them right.

But!! As soon as the fingers are finished, all thats left is to combine the two mirror cuts and sow up her vertexs from the middle! So nearly there!

In the mean time, hair:

Note: I'll be using Alpha Mapping on her hair, my old friend from 2nd year. This is so I get a transparent affect where Molly has cuts in her fringe/hair.
